ClassiCon – Icons of the Past and Classics of the Future

From Eileen Gray and Otto Blümel to Sebastian Herkner and Konstantin Grcic, ClassiCon represents over a century of visionary furniture design. Based in Munich, the brand bridges eras with a curated portfolio of modern classics and contemporary statements – some already in museums, others destined for them.

We proudly offer a selection of ClassiCon’s timeless designs and future icons.

Masterpieces of Yesterday and Tomorrow

What makes ClassiCon so compelling is its commitment to duality: classic and contemporary, familiar and fresh. The result is design that endures – pieces meant to accompany us through life, appreciated for their beauty and function, and cherished enough to be passed on.

Whether it’s a rediscovered archival model or a debut by an emerging designer, every ClassiCon piece meets the same criteria: original, refined, and emotionally resonant.

Customer favourites include:

  • The now-iconic Bell Table by Sebastian Herkner, featuring a hand-blown glass base and now available in solid marble

  • The 2024-introduced Volkshaus Lounge Chair by Herzog & de Meuron, inspired by Japanese architecture and designed for the Volkshaus Boutique Hotel in Basel

Think and Care Global – Work and Care Local

This ethos runs through every aspect of ClassiCon’s philosophy. The company partners with local artisans, bringing design visions to life through meticulous craftsmanship and a deep respect for materials.

Each object is imbued with character and care – from the sourcing of premium materials to the precision of joinery and finishing. The result: furniture with a soul, built to last.

SEBASTIAN HERKNER

“In a world where so many things are constantly dissolving, craftsmanship gains a renewed and profound significance.”

A Name That Says It All

The name ClassiCon is a fusion of two forces that define the brand: Classics and Contemporary. This tension – and balance – is evident in every piece.

From design icons like Eileen Gray’s Adjustable Table, to newer works such as:

  • the sculptural Sol Side Table by OrtegaGuijarro

  • or the refined Pegasus Home Desk by Tilla Goldberg / Ippolito Fleitz Group

…each one is marked by timeless elegance. It is often hard to say at first glance whether a design comes from the last century or this one – and that is precisely the point.

Unsurprisingly, many ClassiCon pieces reside in prestigious collections around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art (New York), the Victoria & Albert Museum (London), and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (Paris).
