Every piece reflects a deep reverence for wood – and a masterful understanding of how to bring out its most beautiful qualities.

Durability is in their DNA
In an interview, Marlieke Van Rossum described the brand’s furniture as “antiques of the future” – an apt expression of the company’s philosophy. For more than 45 years, longevity has not been a marketing claim, but a guiding principle.
At its core lies the use of solid oak, sourced for its strength, authenticity, and ability to age with grace. Complementary materials such as linen, leather, stone, and metal are chosen for similar reasons – their natural integrity and honest patina over time.

Minimalist, Quietly Elegant, and Enduringly Beautiful
For us, this Dutch workshop is something of a hidden gem – discreet, refined, and known only to a discerning few. What fascinates us most about Van Rossum’s shelving and tables is their attention to tactile detail, the subtly textured finishes, and a design language that feels both contemporary and timeless.
Since joining the family business in 2000, Marlieke Van Rossum – daughter of founders Piet and Fien van Rossum – has shaped the brand’s creative direction. A designer in her own right, she also collaborates with leading European architects and creatives to expand the Van Rossum universe.
Among our favourites: the sculptural yet poetic creations of Pieter Maes, a Belgian designer based in Paris, such as the Patine Bibliothèque Rectangular or the dining table from the same collection. And the Curvum Coffee Table by German designer Thomas Haarmann, whose concave tabletop rests on a biconvex solid oak base – merging seamlessly into a refined, monolithic whole.

Each Table, Each Shelf, a True Original
Whether it’s the bold compositions by French designer Christophe Delcourt or the sculptural works of German design luminary Sebastian Herkner, the Van Rossum collection lives from its love of wood – sourced exclusively from sustainably managed forests.
The unique character and natural grain of the material meet bold geometries and delicate craftsmanship to create true originals – pieces that feel at once grounded and sculptural.
Furniture that Speaks Visually – and Emotionally
On their website, Van Rossum writes:
“We strive to create designs that are not only visually compelling but also meaningful – pieces that resonate on an emotional level. We are committed to crafting furniture that not only enhances a space but endures across a lifetime, passed down through generations.”
In short: furniture for the future – designed to become tomorrow’s heirlooms.
