Design-Led Garden Furniture from Catalonia
You can feel the Barcelona vibe in every Kettal piece: relaxed silhouettes, tactile materials, and bold colours reminiscent of Gaudí’s playful palette. From swinging loungers to open-grid metal structures, Kettal proves that garden furniture can – and should – spark joy.
“Functional and expressive furniture that reflects our contemporary culture,”
is how the company defines its mission – and each season brings new surprises, with creative, modern outdoor solutions that balance form and function.

Family-Owned Since 1966
Kettal’s story began in 1966, when founder Manuel Alorda launched the collapsible “Mickey” chair – designed for the booming market of weekend travellers. Compact and clever, Mickey became a must-have for those heading into the countryside or down to the coast.
Fast forward to today, and Kettal continues to respond to changing lifestyles – developing furniture that fits the evolving needs of urban living, from small terraces to expansive gardens.

Crafted in Catalonia – Global in Reach
Still family-owned, Kettal is headquartered in Barcelona, with production based in a coastal workshop in Tarragona, just 45 km away. Almost every piece is made by hand, combining craftsmanship with contemporary design innovation.
Kettal now operates flagship stores in Barcelona, New York, Marbella, Paris, Cannes, London, and Miami – bringing the Mediterranean lifestyle to a global audience.

Signature Pieces: “Cala” and “Bitta”
The “Cala” armchair, designed by Doshi Levien, is one of Kettal’s icons. Inspired by the iconic peacock chair from the film Emmanuelle, Cala features a high open-weave backrest and a sculptural silhouette that brings drama and comfort to outdoor dining or lounging.
The “Bitta” collection by Rodolfo Dordoni takes its name from the Italian word for mooring ropes – and with its nautical rope-like braiding, it evokes the look and feel of coastal living. Bitta is one of Kettal’s bestsellers – relaxed, elegant, and infinitely versatile.

The “Maia” Collection by Patricia Urquiola
Light, airy, and architectural – Maia blends a delicate woven mesh with a robust aluminium frame, offering a new kind of outdoor elegance. Combined with Kettal’s innovative Porotex and chenille fabrics, the collection feels both natural and fashion-forward.

“Roll” – Playfulness Meets Precision
In true Urquiola style, “Roll” reinterprets the lounge chair with a wink: two cylindrical back cushions are held together with colourful fabric straps, replacing the conventional backrest with something far more sculptural – and fun.
“Cala” – Refined Comfort with Presence
Cala’s open weave and high back make it both regal and relaxed – equally suited for open-air meals or quiet moments in the sun. With a wide selection of metal finishes, rope colours, and cushion fabrics, Cala can be personalised to suit any aesthetic, from coastal minimalism to bohemian chic.
