Porta Romana – A Philosophy We Share
Bespoke pieces and handcrafted objects with true individuality are one of our studio’s core values – and it’s this very philosophy that aligns us so closely with Porta Romana. That’s why we often and enthusiastically incorporate their lighting collections into our interior projects.

(Almost) Every Wish Made Possible
Every Porta Romana creation is made by hand and made to order – whether it’s a customised version of an existing model or an entirely new concept. This means each detail can be adapted to harmonise seamlessly with your space – from finish and fabric to scale and structure.
Examples include:
Standard fittings and cables that can be reimagined in alternative materials or colours
In-house handmade lampshades that can be tailored in your preferred shape, fabric – or even upholstered with a client’s own material
Hand-painted finishes available across the full Porta Romana library, with custom lacquers and surface treatments upon request
In addition to lighting – including table, floor, ceiling, and wall lamps, as well as showstopping chandeliers – the portfolio also includes furniture pieces: decorative mirrors, consoles, and side tables, all hand-forged in England, with bespoke adaptations possible in terms of size, proportions, and finishes – guided by Porta Romana’s skilled artisan team.

Handmade in Great Britain – With Heritage and Heart
Porta Romana collaborates with master glassblowers, ceramicists, metalworkers, and sculptors – all of whom bring their own artistic expertise to each design. Many pieces are produced using centuries-old techniques, preserved and practised as part of the company’s dedication to British artisanal heritage.

Sustainability in Practice – The Upcycling Club
While many speak of sustainability, Porta Romana actively implements it – through their Upcycling Club. This initiative offers clients the option to restore and renew beloved Porta Romana pieces.
Whether the goal is to refinish a surface, rewire a lamp, or re-upholster a shade, almost any aged product can be revitalised. If restoration isn’t feasible, clients may return their item in exchange for a credit towards a new piece – ensuring the spirit of every design lives on with purpose.
