Delicate Lines, Bold Form – A Refined Take on Japanese-Inspired Seating

Torii Bold finds harmony in contrast: between generous, softly rounded volumes and the visual lightness of a minimalist metal base. Evolved from the original Torii collection by Studio Nendo, it retains the characteristic backrest shape while adopting a more grounded, sculptural presence.

Vertical stitched channels lend rhythm to the gently curved backrest, complemented by refined piping in faux leather or faux nubuck – a subtle nod to haute couture craftsmanship.

The legs, adorned with signature decorative buttons, reference traditional Japanese woodworking. Positioned precisely at the seams, they connect horizontal and vertical lines with understated complexity, supporting the upholstered forms like architectural joinery.

The sofas feature graceful, curved silhouettes, available in both compact and generous sizes, including peninsula versions. Armchairs come in either fixed or swivel configurations, the latter with an integrated metal base that discreetly conceals the mechanism.

Ottomans, available in various shapes and sizes – some with castors – echo the armchair’s design and invite a more casual, mobile way of living.
